1981 USSR Junior Champion; 1988 USSR champion (for age 25 and younger); 1991 New York Open Champion; 1998 World Open Champion (8 wins and one draw in 9 games); 2003 Continental Champion. Aside from teach chess, Alex’s hobbies include yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practice.

 

Grandmaster Gregory Serper 1988 World Junior Champion; 1999 World Open Champion; 1999 US Championship Silver Medalist. Greg lives in Bellevue, WA and is available for lessons over SKYPE.

 

 

Grandmaster Joshua Friedel’s friendly personality and pleasantly engaging teaching style put students at ease. Josh is the 2013 Chicago Open Champion and the 2013 US Open Champion. He is looking forward to capturing the US Closed title in 2014.

 

 

FIDE Master Alex Betaneli Wisconsin State Champion in 2000, 2001, 2005, and 2012. He frequently writes for the most widely read American chess magazine Chess Life. Alex’s students consistently win titles at both state and national levels.

 

 

 

National Master Erik Santarius Wisconsin State Champion in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2013. He has four International Master norms and will be awarded the title once his international rating reaches 2400. Erik’s students consistently win awards in individual and team competitions.

 

National Master Jeremy Kane Wisconsin State Champion in 2006, 2007, and 2009. He has successful students throughout the Midwest. Jeremy lives in DC area where he works as a professional chess instructor in DC area.

 

 

National Master Nolan Hendrickson 2010 North Central Champion. Nolan lives in Missouri where he tries to balance college studies with his chess improvement.
