Grandmaster Alexander Goldin’s titles include: 1981 USSR Junior Champion, 1988 USSR Champion (for age 25 and younger), 1991 New York Open Champion, 1998 World Open Champion, and 2003 Continental Champion. Aside from teaching chess, Alex enjoys scuba diving and mindfulness meditation.


Grandmaster Joshua Friedel is the 2017 Wisconsin State Champion. He has also won the 2013 Chicago Open, the 2013 US Open, and the 2016 North American Open. Josh is also a prolific chess writer who regularly contributes to Chess Life, Chess Life Online, and other publications.


Grandmaster Gregory Serper won the 1988 World Junior Championship and the 1999 World Open. Greg lives in Bellevue, WA and is available for lessons over SKYPE.



FIDE Master Alex Betaneli won the Wisconsin State Championship four times and is a 5-time winner of the US Amateur Team Championship-North. He organized the Wisconsin International Chess Festival in 2017.  Alex’s students regularly win titles at the state and national levels.



FIDE Master Erik Santarius won the Wisconsin State Championship four times and is a 3-time winner of the US Amateur Team Championship-North. He has four International Master norms and will be awarded the title once his international rating reaches 2400. Erik’s students consistently win awards in individual and team competitions.


National Master Jeremy Kane won the Wisconsin State Championship three times. Jeremy lives in DC area where he works as a professional chess instructor.



National Master Nolan Hendrickson is the 2010 North Central Open Champion. Nolan is an enthusiastic teacher who is invited to chess camps throughout the country.
